You don’t have to keep carrying this
Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood can bring moments that stay in the body long after they’re “over”.

You might notice that you:
-
replay parts of what happened
-
feel on edge or emotionally flat
-
avoid reminders of birth, feeding or hospital care
-
struggle to sleep or switch off
-
feel disconnected from yourself or your baby
-
worry this feeling won’t shift
If this sounds familiar, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.

It means your nervous system experienced something overwhelming and hasn’t yet had the chance to fully process it.

Support can help with that.
“After my birth experience, I couldn’t stop replaying the worst moments. Working with Joy through Three Step Rewind has genuinely changed my life. I feel calm again and able to enjoy being a mum.”
– Katie, Client Review

Three Step Rewind for Birth, Pregnancy & Feeding Trauma

Three Step Rewind (TBR) is a well-established trauma processing approach that helps the brain safely reprocess an overwhelming experience.

The memory doesn’t disappear.
What changes is the emotional charge attached to it.

After Rewind, parents often notice:
-
fewer intrusive memories
-
reduced anxiety and emotional spikes
-
less reactivity to reminders
-
improved sleep and emotional steadiness
-
a stronger sense of being “back in their body”

You stay in control throughout.
You do not need to relive or retell every detail.
What Rewind Helps With

Parents choose Three Step Rewind for:
-
traumatic birth experiences (any type of birth)
-
induction or emergency caesarean that felt frightening or out of control
-
feeding trauma or intense guilt
-
NICU or neonatal care experiences
-
miscarriage or baby loss (held with great care)
-
IVF or pregnancy trauma
-
tokophobia (fear of birth)
-
feeling emotionally stuck, numb or triggered If trauma is present

How the Three Step Rewind Process Works

Step 1 – Understanding the Impact
We talk gently about how the experience is affecting you now. You choose what you share.

Step 2 – Rewind (Memory Reprocessing)
Through guided relaxation, the memory is revisited from a safe, distant perspective. No reliving. No overwhelm. Your nervous system remains calm.

Is This Right for Me?

Is Rewind Right for Me?
-
Three Step Rewind is likely to be a good fit if you:
-
feel stuck in memories or moments
-
experience strong emotional reactions or shutdown
-
feel triggered by reminders
-
sense something unresolved sitting underneath anxiety
-
It can help you move forward without having to relive what happened.

When Rewind might not be the right first step
Rewind may not be appropriate if you are currently experiencing:
-
active psychosis
-
severe dissociation
-
thoughts of harming yourself
-
a mental health crisis requiring urgent support
-
If this applies, I can help you think about more appropriate support.
If you’re unsure, that’s completely normal.
A short conversation can help us decide together whether this feels like the right next step for you.
Questions You Might Be Wondering

Is this counselling or therapy?
No. Three Step Rewind works with how the nervous system processes memories. It doesn’t involve talking things through in detail or analysing what happened.

Will I have to relive what happened?
No. You stay in control throughout and don’t need to retell or relive the experience.

What if I’m not sure it was “trauma”?
You don’t need to label it. If it’s still affecting you now, that’s enough reason to seek support.

Can I do this during pregnancy or years later?
Yes. Rewind can be used safely during pregnancy and works whether the experience was recent or long ago.

What if I feel unsure or nervous about starting?
That’s very common. A short, no-pressure conversation can help you decide if this feels right for you.
